Feng Shui – Our Home Is Our Gateway to Abundance or Misfortune

To all of us, our home is our palace but in the Chinese Metaphysical Studies, our home is divided into eight palaces or sectors according to the system known as Eight Mansions.

Based on this system, houses are divided into East Group or West Group. There are 4 types of houses within each group. The type of house a person resides in is determined by the compass directions of the main entrance to the house. For instance, if the main entrance faces north, the house belonged to the East Group and the type of house is known as a Li House. If the main entrance faces east, it belonged to the West Group and the type of house is called Dui House.

The core foundation of Feng Shui centers on the existence of -Qi- or life force which is believed to permeate our environment. The life force or energy is dispersed by the wind and gathers at the boundary of water. If the external landform within the vicinity of our house is conducive, Qi will be able to enter the house through the door at the main entrance of the house. Our home is regarded as a container of Qi and the eight sectors of the house are either auspicious or inauspicious depending on where positive Qi or negative Qi collects. The eight sectors, also known as -Property Kua-, are based on the eight cardinal directions of the compass i.e. north, south, east, west, northwest, southeast, northeast and southwest. The auspicious sectors bring good luck to the residents whereas the inauspicious sectors, bad tidings.

Using the same example of a north facing house or Li House, the following are 4 auspicious and 4 inauspicious sectors:-

Auspicious Sectors Type of Luck

East Prosperity Southeast Health North Harmony South Tranquility

Inauspicious Sectors Type of Luck

Northeast Minor Loss West Discord Southwest Misfortune Northwest Grave Danger

If we seek career advancement or business success, we should have our front door located in the east sector of the house where our main entrance is as this represents the mouth of the house for Qi to flow in. The positive energy will bring prosperity to all the residents in the house.

If we want to stay healthy, we should have one of our rooms located in the southeast sector of the house and use this room more often to benefit from the positive Qi collected therein.

If we look for romance or build harmonious relationship with others, we should tap into the positive Qi residing in the north sector or room in the house.

Lastly, if we seek peace of mind or serenity, we should sleep in the room that is in the south sector of the house.

On the contrary, if we do not want bad luck befallen us, we should as far as possible avoid using the sectors which are inauspicious.

Sarah Palin’s Astrology Chart

Alaskan governor Sarah Palin has attracted more than her share of attention as the Republican Presidential candidate in the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election. Unfortunately, she has invited criticism for most things she has done. Perhaps this is because of some unfortunate planetary influences in her astrological chart currently going on in the sky.

Sarah Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on February 11th, 1964. Palin’s astrological chart reveals that she is an influential individual, whether that influence is for better or worse. Her youthful appearance is the result of being a forward thinking Aquarius and her Leo rising gives her a lot of charisma. The television cameras can’t seem to take their lenses off her.

Sarah Palin’s flakiness in public, which has made her the butt of many jokes on late night television, is also the result of having a lot of planets in Aquarius. Still, despite Palin’s perceived shallowness, Aquarians are not usually tyrants. They are usually bright, sophisticated thinkers that have a vision even if they are not. They can make great leaders.

So why is Sarah Palin, who has so many natural positives to her character insist, being involved some questionable situations?

Well, for one, Palin may be choosing the wrong time to run for major office. Neptune in retrograde, and also about to go forward, along with square Mars (in early November 2008) is a very troubled planetary position that is going to affect people in general. Sarah has Neptune square her natal sun, which causes big trouble. Normally, Palin would just rise effortless to the top, but luck is not on her side. When Neptune is afflicted, it means that the person becomes foggy, lost, and unable to connect with others. It actually causes the person to be viewed unfairly, as Neptune is a planet of distortion.

Like all famous people, Sarah Palin has a stellium in her astrological chart and this one just happens to be in that seventh house of her chart. Palin has both Saturn and Mars in the seventh house, which means that people will always be somewhat hostile in the way people perceive her. Saturn is a planet that symbolizes criticism and Mars is a warrior energy that can even be violent.

At the time of her Vice Presidential nomination, the planet Neptune was actually transiting over her natal Neptune, which would be a once in a lifetime happening since Neptune is such as slow planet. This planetary position simply translates to mean “I can’t win no matter what I do.That is also what might happen to Sarah Palin as she attempts to become Vice President of the United States. If Neptune were not crossing over the stallion of planets in her seventh house (which is the house of public opinion), she might not be the target of so much derision and be taken seriously in the press.

Even though she is a former beauty queen and seems soft on television, she has a moon in Capricorn, which makes her a fierce yet fair ruler. Unfortunately, with the planets not on her side, her political quest might not come to fruition. Perhaps the main reason she rose to political prominence in the first place is because she has Jupiter in the ninth house, which, for most of her career, had her in the right place at the right time.

We’ll find out on November 4th if the planets are in her favor in her quest with John McCain for the White House.

Feng Shui Guidelines for the Bedroom

Since feng shui is the art of arranging items in such a way that can redirect positive energy, using feng shui in the bedroom is also a good idea. The bedroom is one of the most frequented places in the house and directing positive energy into it can be beneficial.

Bedroom feng shui can alleviate the stress from a tedious day at work by helping you relax and loosen up your tense muscles faster. Even romance can be positively affected because of the good energy coming from the feng shui arrangements of the room.

A typical bedroom with a feng shui theme is of bright and vibrant colors and have items that are not strewn everywhere. Clutter or mess is a bad sign in feng shui since the appearance of disorderliness only adds to the stress factor.

To start fixing your bedroom and incorporating feng shui to it, you should first establish some simple guidelines. A good way to start things off is not to place furniture that will block the doorway. A doorway to the bedroom should open fully or at least be at a 90-degree angle so you can enter the room without any problems at all. In feng shui, half-open doors limit the energy of opportunities that come to you.

Another tip is to put something that will invoke a positive feeling in you the moment you enter the bedroom. It could be a painting or a plant across the room located in areas facing the door.

Typically, feng shui decorations for the bedroom have warm or cool soothing colors. Avoid bright and flashy ones like red and gold as these can be quite eye catching and stressful to look at. As the bed is the focal point of the room, its proper placement should also be observed. Placing the bed in a way that you are facing the door, will give you a sense of command and security even when lying down.

However, you should never position the bed in a way that your feet are facing the door. This is the symbol of death based on Chinese traditions. You should never face corners or sharp objects as you sleep as these are also a bad omen.

Eliminate clutter. This is one thing that all feng shui experts agree on. Clutter will only distract your thinking. You may place items in the bedroom but avoid filling the room with so much stuf, including work related items and equipment, because they will only overwhelm you.

In feng shui, clutter will cloud your mind and prevent you from being an organized person. In the practical sense, it will allow you to move around and about your room freely, thus eliminating additional sources of stress.

Using The Law Of Attraction To Attract Your Right Partner-part Two

Hopefully you read Part One so that you understand the power of the law of attraction. This Law attracts people to us like a magnet, based on what we think and feel. Most of our thinking is done unconsciously which explains why you might be attracting the wrong person each time.

If you are attracting the same kind of person that you don’t want, you are likely focusing your thoughts and energy on what you don’t want, rather than on what you do want. Much of this is done unconsciously. You don’t even know it’s happening. If you repeatedly attract the wrong person that is your clue that you need to change your thoughts.

Ready to start attracting the person of your dreams? Here are the basic steps:

Have A Written Goal

” Set the goal or intention. Write it down.

” Write down the characteristics of your ideal partner (Age, education, economic level, height, hobbies, everything you want).

” Read your list every day. Your mind must have repetition in order to change the neural connections.

” Believe you can have it and that you deserve it.

Visualize Yourself With Your New Partner

” Your mind thinks in pictures so make a mental movie.

” Be sure to put yourself in the movie.

” Think of what it feels like to be with your partner.

” See yourself holding hands, cuddling, making love, doing things that you enjoy.

” Do your visualization every morning and evening when your mind is most receptive.

Create A Vision Board

” Find photo images of happy couples that seem to have the kind of relationship you want.

” Include photos of the house you want to live in and doing things you want to do together.

” Place your vision board where you can see it every day.

” You can spice it up even more by using Feng Shui on your vision board. Put your photos in your relationship corner, which is the upper right corner of your board.

Create Powerful Affirmations

” Make sure your affirmations are positive.

” State your affirmations in the present tense.

” Repeat your affirmations several times a day, especially in the morning and evening

” Repeat your affirmations when you catch yourself thinking negatively about your relationship situation.

Ignite Your Passion

” It is your feelings that attract things to you faster.

” Feel it as you say your affirmations & do your visualization.

” How does it feel to be with your partner?

BE The Right Partner

” What specific qualities do you want your new partner to see in you? Make a list.

” What do you need to change about yourself to prepare for your new partner?

” What can you do to love yourself more?

” What can you do to love your partner more?

” Practice being the kind of person you want to become.

Take Action

” What are your passions? Start doing things now that you are passionate about

” Where can you meet people who share your passions?

” Keep a gratitude journal. You get more of the things in which you are grateful.

” Be grateful for all of the relationships you have right now.

” Put yourself in places where you can meet new people.

” Expect that you will meet the right person. Erase all doubts.

An important part of this process is you believing that you deserve the kind of person you want to attract. Some people have issues with self-worth. Maintaining a deeply held belief that you don’t deserve a certain type of person will prevent you from attracting it regardless of how great you look, or any other physical attribute you might have.

The next time you’re looking to attract your right and perfect partner, take a look inside your mind. You’ll find just what you’re looking for.

Aim High!

Feng Shui Interprets Mobile Homes

There is a little bit of a debate amongst traditional Feng Shui practitioners in how to assess a Mobile Home. When a regular home is being built, energies from the earth below will combine with the energies emanating from the stars and planets above. It helps define a combination of timing and orientation. When a roof is installed, it sandwiches these earthly and celestial energies into a magnetic field that can be calculated and interpretted.

For example, we can say that a house which was built in 1965 that faces East is in a phase right now and until 2024 where it undermines fertility for the occupants trying to conceive.

So, how can we interpret a Mobile Home which was manufactured somewhere and then placed on the land, without the same criteria as a regular construction? Some Feng Shui practitioners feel reduced to using more generic or basic interpretations for these kinds of living spaces. In my own practice, I have not reviewed a tremendous amount of Mobile Homes to date. If I have evaluated around 4,000 properties, I may have only assessed less than fifty Mobile Homes. But based on my experience so far, they do appear to collect and “house” similar energies as a house built right on the land. So, if a Mobile Home was placed on a piece of land in 1965(and not moved since)with an east-facing orientation, then that Mobile Home could easily have similar influences on the occupants as described for the conventionally built home.

On a related note, not considered part of classical feng shui, but certainly something to consider: living inside a metal box could be undermining for your health over time. As a conductor for electrical fields, living in a metal box could be the final straw for someone with significant health problems. I have a dear friend who has struggled with treating her skin cancer, while living in a Mobile Home. She was instructed to move by a macro-biotic nutritionist, saying that living in a metal box was on par with living in a really polluted environment, counter-productive to getting well.

In contrast to their basic, rectangular shape, Mobile Homes often have a non-obvious orientation. Do they face the street which they have been placed on or do they face the same direction as where the entry door is, often on the “side” of the mobile home? The orientation could go either way, depending on the location of other surrounding structures or landscaping features. So, what might appear to be a very simple space to analyze can in fact be a challenge. With Mobile Homes some of the basic principles regarding floor plans have to be modified, so they are dealt with on a case by case basis.
