A Feng Shui Misunderstanding Regarding The New Period 8

Now that we are beyond 2004, a new twenty year construction cycle (2004-2023), I have been receiving emails from people in a panic about their houses that were built in the last twenty year cycle (1984-2003) or a home that is even older. This panic is usually totally unwarranted, but has been generated by some famous feng shui practitioners who have a history of dispensing very bad advice. Not everyone reading this article will understand the technical points and it requires some familiarity with the Flying Star School of Feng Shui, but in concept, I hope everyone can appreciate why I am writing one of the most important articles I’ve ever written.

The major points I will cover in this article are: 1.It is not necessary to try to change a Period 7 House into a Period 8 House. 2.There are counter-measures and feng shui remedies that you can apply to your existing house in lieu of drastic remodeling. 3.Changing the cycle of your house to Period 8 could make it a bad house. (In other words, new isn’t always better.) 4.Only a radical remodel would change the cycle of the house anyway.

NOT NECESSARY If you have learned that the Flying Star -7- returned to being more of a negative influence after 2004, you are correct, but I can say with confidence that it did not turn negative at the stroke of midnight on February 4, 2004. As well, entire houses built during the Period 7 cycle (1984-2003) did not turn bad over night. The goodness of the actual 7 energy (wherever it is in your house, and it exists in every house no matter when the house was built) will fade over time. Five to ten years might be a more appropriate -shelf life.- This is true for the 7 flying star in all houses, not just the ones built in Period 7 (1984-2003). Also, keep in mind that no flying star functions on its own. It has to be coupled with another star and those combinations can have drastically different impacts.

REMEDIES If you are worried about the flying star 7 in your house contributing to betrayals, violence or theft, then you can weaken this flying star 7 with water. The 7-Tui trigram is inherently metal and metal is always weakened with water. This is the reductive cycle at work and it is the most gentle way to correct the problem. The same Feng Shui personality who is upsetting people out about the 7 star is also telling readers to -destroy it with fire.- The Reductive cycle is usually preferable to the Destructive cycle, so I would disagree with this advice as well, except in specific circumstances that require more studious training.

WHAT IF YOU WANT TO GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THE CYCLE? Changing the cycle of your house is a major undertaking that few people are willing or able to do. But if you did, what are you trading it in for? You could be creating a monster! Example: I used to live in a southwest facing Period 7 home, with an entrance in the NE and an office in the South. The flying stars at the door were 7-7 and in the office they were 6-8. These are major money numbers and I tripled my income in this house. Now, if I had the capability of turning that same Southwest-facing house into a Period 8 house, the office would become 6-9 (not nearly as good) and it would have replaced a 1-4 combination in the center for 2-5. (The 1-4 energy is still supportive of creative people, especially writers, while the 2-5 energy means there is potential for arguments and accidents.) For a variety of reasons, Flying Star practitioners should universally agree that this would be a less desirable house and not appropriate to try to change. There are loads of other examples, whereby changing your house into a newer cycle would make it worse.

HOW CAN YOU CHANGE THE CYCLE OF YOUR HOUSE ANYWAY? The same bad sources that advocate changing the cycle of your house from Period 7 to Period 8 are also misleading people to think that they can do this by changing the carpeting, installing a new door, or replacing the plaster ceiling. Another suggests moving out of your house for three months and then moving back in or removing -3 tiles- from the roof of your house. None of these symbolic gestures will work in my opinion.

If you really want to change the cycle of your house, you have to rip away a major part of your ceiling AND roof and expose the interiors and foundation of your house to the sky. You would have to do a major renovation where you practically gutted your house in order to have the original energy escape the house and have a new energy pattern enter. There are some people who think that you can change the -birth year- or cycle of your house by creating an extremely large skylight in the center of the house, but I have my reservations about that one also. So, you can see that changing the cycle of your house is a serious undertaking that would cost thousands of dollars and should only be done if you know for sure that you will be creating a better house because of it.

Feng Shui Beginners Tips … Remodel For Harmony

Feng Shui has just recently come to the forefront in the DIY home remodeling and decorating world. Do-it-yourself homeowners are learning about and implementing concepts from Feng Shui accordingly. As the economy experiences more problems and people become more nervous, this system of a healthy, more prosperous life becomes more attractive. In fact, many who laughed at the idea of Feng Shui just a few years ago are now solid converts!

Feng Shui is made of several absolutes, such as the Five Elements: water, wood, earth, metal and fire, the Colors: those which comprise the Yen & Yang expressions of mood, the Rules, and the Bagua Map: a plan of aligning your environment according to a prescribed template. All this may seem a bit restrictive but the outcome of implementing and following these directives may result in a more freeing, peaceful attitude. A little like learning to play the piano. The more time you spend learning and practicing, the freer you play.

The Five Elements are important as each has its specific properties. Water is fluid, and associates with communication and career. Also, it has some connection to abundance, making it vital to incorporate into any plans for your home office or work. A small fountain or fish aquarium will also add a peaceful sound and a pleasant feeling. Wood brings a feeling of strength and is thought to enhance creativity. A wood desk, wood furniture, wood room divider or a wood paneled wall brings positive energy.

Earth denotes permanence, stability and family home. There are three areas of your life Earth relates to; your health, your relationships and your awareness. Potted plants and “earthy” colors may bring you back “down to earth” and increase your stability, well being and your effective learning. Metal is strength. It draws attention and transmits energy, bringing in sharpness and clarity. Metal accents, bowls and pots are advised. Fire is power. Power to help and to destroy! Passion, love, energy and danger. The enthusiasm to succeed may lead to aspirations of power. Perhaps a simple candle or two here.

Feng Shui Colors are important to understand when you redecorate or remodel and are specific to the room they appear in. For instance, colors used in your office will be different than those used in your bedroom. Each color also has very specific meanings and symbolism. Red relates to high energy, emotion and good luck while blues and greens are healing, growth and wealth. Yen & Yang are all about colors. Yin colors are those which are calming-blues, greens and “cooler” colors-while Yang colors stimulate and motivate. These, in turn, are “warmer” colors, such as orange, reds and yellows. Consider the purpose of each room and work your colors around that.

Feng Shui Rules revolve around simplicity. Although there are numerous definitions, Feng Shui Rules can be stated as that which calms, simplifies, organizes and de-clutters our lives. Feng Shui literally means “wind water” in Chinese and the rules are directed toward providing a flowing, free yet organized “Chi” if followed. Chi (or ch’i, pronounced k-eye) is the concept that everything has its own energy, which is constantly changing and flowing through space. Simplicity is the first rule, but its followed closely by “remove clutter!” Others are; incorporate natural elements, use calming colors, be aware of your surroundings, separate the living areas according to purpose and remove things which do not have a positive influence on you.

The Bagua Map (or simply Bagua) is important to be aware of, as it directs the actual room locations and flow of energy (chi) within the room and through the home. Not only does the location of each room matter, but the colors and elements in each room, as well. The Feng Shui Bagua Map also shows how the nine areas of our lives relate. These are; Wealth, Reputation, Love, Family, Health, Children, Knowledge, Career and Friends/Guides/Travel.

Thankfully, a complete understanding of Feng Shui is not as important as implementing as many of the Five Elements, Colors, Rules and the Bagua as we can. If you work at home and have a dedicated room or area for your office, there are things you can do to inflate the possibility of wealth. Changing the colors in the kitchen may bring about better nutrition and health. Rearrange the furniture to create energy. Marie Diamond Uses Feng Shui To Master The Secret

The more I devote my time into finding out what makes the individuals featured in the monster hit of the year The Secret tick, the more I see what an eclectic mix of personalities they all are. Marie Diamond is no exception.
She originates from Belgium and as she tells it she first started applying the law of attraction at the age of 7 through the pictures she would draw.
As the story goes her father and brother had what could be best described as a Falling Out with one another after her brother ran off and married without first informing the family. She loved her brother very much but he dropped out of her life entirely after his dispute with their father. She thought of him often and longed to see him again. Months went by without a word but she kept thinking of him just the same.

Out of nowhere it seems she got her first form of contact from him via a letter. Armed with his return address she wrote him back pouring out her little heart in every word written and requested to see him and his new bride. She then went to her room and drew a picture of her father and brother making amends by having them shake hands with the idea of forgiveness behind that simple gesture. She drew that picture with her intention in each and every separate stroke. She focused all her attention on the idea of her sibling and father coming together again for Christmas.

To her very own amazement she awoke on Christmas Eve to find her brother and his new bride in their living room. They (her father and older brother) where shaking hands just like they were in the picture she had created! She knew then and there the power of emotions and the thoughts they create. She has used this method of manifesting ever since and you can see for yourself what it has done for her in her own life!

After watching the interview she gave on ABCs View From The Bay where she related this story I understood why her contribution to The Secret showed her telling her client to draw what he wanted to manifest. Before seeing that interview, I had no idea the power that form of artistic impression and intent really had in the creation of making our dreams materialize. I have been so touched by her personal story that I am in the intention of drawing a picture depicting my family which consists of myself, my two daughters Nikki and Hunter and my dear friend Corey who opened up his home to us while I get back on my feet -enjoying the life we are currently creating for ourselves with happiness, health and wealth behind the intent!

She also emphasized the power of Vision Boards. She held up her own as an example of how to create one for the viewers to see. She has such great intention for wealth that she actually had a picture of A Billion-Dollar Bill! I didnt even know they existed until I saw one on her board. The idea behind that she stated was to allow unlimited amounts of wealth and prosperity to flow into her life. I like that idea myself. How about you?

Lastly she explained how important it is for you to look at, imagine having, and focusing on the objects you put on your own Vision Board. Her advise for the board put it in a place where you will see it though out the day like your office for instance if you have one. The idea is to focus on it daily but she cautions never have the board behind you as it will not be as powerful there and it may even result in the objects on the board not coming to you at all. In front of you is the best place for it but anywhere where your peripheral vision can see it will do as well.

Tortoises and dragons have been known to be the two immensely powerful symbolic items of Feng Shui. The dragon alone has several symbolic meanings and it stands for wealth, positive energy, fertility and immortality, to mention a few. The dragon is believed to have a positive influence on humans according to the Chinese mythology.

The tortoise also has potential symbolic meaning and it represents permanence, of committed efforts and of premeditated actions that would lead to inevitable success. The unification of these two powerful symbols- the Dragon and the Tortoise results in the formation of one Feng Shui item that possesses the power of both these animals and brings in longevity and success.

The symbol of Dragon Tortoise is portrayed with the dragons head and the tortoises body. A tiny turtle is usually found on the tortoises shell at the back, and the Feng Shui item stands on precious metal ingots and coins piled up together. A coin can often be found inside the mouth of the dragon.

The Dragon tortoise happens to be one of the four ancient propitious animals dragon, tiger, phoenix and dragon tortoise. How To Handle Holiday Breakups

While most of relationship endings are pretty miserable, those that happen during the holidays may be some of the worst imaginable. This is especially true for the partners that didn’t want the breakup. In fact, they usually never see it coming so it hits them like a wall when it happens. Because you would think that waiting a few days isn’t that big of a deal, the timing on these breakups can also seem vindictive.

When a holiday breakup happens, you may feel that there’s no chance you can have a “normal” holiday. Obviously, you’re going to be unhappy and hurt. Everywhere you look may remind you of something to do with your ex and how joyful you used to be. Yes, it may be very hard to enjoy the holidays when you’ve been dumped by someone with the worst timing in the world. However, there are ways to make it through the holiday season and emerge on the other side somewhat unscathed. .

To start with, consider the reason for the breakup. If it was just one of those silly fights that couples have caused by the stress that comes with the happy season, things will most likely be all patched up and fine by Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Yes, you’ll have a few moments in there where you’ll be miserable and feel like you want to just die, or you want HIM to die, but once both of you realize what was really going on, things will work themselves out. On top of that, you’ll get to have some very amazing make up sex, which can only make the holidays even better.

Now, however, if he cheated on you or has met another person he’s serious about, or for whatever reason, he’s just not in love with you anymore, those are going to be difficult situations to deal with ANY time of the year, let alone holidays. This is when you need a great support system around you. These can be your closest friends as well as relatives that really appreciate you. Lean on them and accept whatever comfort they’re offering. Just remember that it’s the holiday season for them, too, and they probably kind of wanted to enjoy this time.

Don’t hide up in your room or your home and refuse human contact. This is when you need it the most. It’s perfectly fine to grieve, but your goal is going to be surviving a few days before completely breaking down. There will be eleven months and three weeks to do that the rest of the year, if you really want to spend that much time mourning someone that apparently didn’t care all that much anyway. Do what you need to do to crawl through those holidays. Keep in mind not to do something totally stupid, though, like indulging in a series of ill-advised one night stands. Stranger sex isn’t going to heal you or even put a bandaid on your distress.

One more thing to consider is that you may have hooked up with one of those guys that simply splits up around holidays, or special days, so that he doesn’t have to buy gifts. He’ll be back right after New Year’s if that’s your ex. Just expect him to pick a fight again right before Valentine’s Day.
